Look at what just came in the mail! I ordered this a few days ago from Target. For $45. It's not something that I would usually buy. But as my mom and I were looking at Target's website a few days ago, she talked me into it!
I'm really loving this bag. I'm going to have to come up with a cute outfit to go with it. To me, it screams summer. Or even has a SW vibe to it. I can see myself wearing this with a cute summer dress, or even jeans and boots.

Jewelry Inspiration
I recently watched this YouTube video from scalmat. And I'm so inspired to go jewelry shopping. I really like accessories. I worked in a small boutique for years! And we had such an eclectic mix of things. I would spend hours playing with all the jewelry. And honestly, now that I own a boutique of my own, the accessories are still my favorite part of the store!
I really like those owl earrings. Not so much for me. They're a little too big and flashy for me. But for a really good friend. I'm off to go see if I can get my hands on a pair!

Day at the Ranch
We're getting ready to head out to a friend's Ranch for a few days. And one of the nights that we're going to be there, they're going to have a little more dressy of a dinner. So I came up with this look.
I happen to already have this dress. And I really love it! It's so comfy. Cute as heck too! Everyone woman that I know owns at least 1 denim jacket. And living in the SW, well boots and silver and turquoise jewelry are essentials! So I'm all set to go. I even had the cute clutch!

Poolside Fun
On Saturday we went to a pool party at my in-laws' house. It was loads of fun! And a pre-holiday celebration. Let's not forget all the good food. I'm pretty sure, I gained about 10lbs in 1 weekend! But this is what I wore.
It was definitely fun and comfy. And spot on for the holiday weekend. I love how you can take the things you already own, and make fun sets on Polyvore. This is really how I come up with a lot of outfits for myself. It's the online version of my design concept boards I use for my work designs.

A Little Inspiration
The other night, I couldn't sleep. I think it had to do with the fried ice cream Tony and I decided to have after dinner. But I was definitely wide awake at midnight. I have a Polyvore account that I use for work inspiration. But I like to keep it private. You know, I'm trying to work. But I decided to start another. Just for fun. And so I can post on my blog. :)
While I was there playing on Polyvore, I decided to come up with an outfit to wear for the 4th of July. I didn't want to look like a walking flag. But I wanted to feel patriotic. And I really wanted to use what I have in my closet. So I came up with a cute little outfit. But after it published, it looked awful! It has something to do with that particular account's pictures. I don't really know all the logistics of it. But I didn't notice it until I went back last night, wanting to write up a post. So I changed a few things and came up with this look...
It's what I wore yesterday. And I loved it! Except I had the romper from the 1st set. It was so comfy! And I felt very festive yesterday.
It's definitely a lot of fun to go play on Polyvore. I do it a lot when I'm watching sports with Tony. I'm not a big fan of sports. So it's fun to play a "Grown Up" version of paper dolls. Here's my account if you are on Polyvore. Hope you enjoyed this!

Summertime Hat
Surprise, surprise. I went to Target today. I didn't really have anything in mind to buy. But as always, Target never disappoints. And I found this hat...
On clearance for $8! It's no longer available on Target's website. But I would definitely check out your local store. Because it really is perfect for summer. I live in the SW, and I'm always fighting the sun. Especially when we are having some fun poolside!

Oh Baby
Tony and I have now been married for just over 2 years. And recently, we've been taking about babies. You know, I'm in my 30s. And married. It's about time...
But I am nervous and a little scared. Not for this opportunity for Tony and I. But because we have so much on our plates right now. We travel a lot. It's all for work too. So it's not like that is going to slow down anytime soon. Being that our store is in LA, and I get most of my work done in CA, you would think we'd move out there permanently. But we like our hometown. And our home.
Then you have to look at the work schedule itself. Lola is my biggest client by far. Also one of my very best friends! But she is definitely doing less work than she was 2-3 years ago. Mostly because of her health. But the fact that she has found a man to love and grow a relationship, also has some part. And you can't blame her. Trying to fit in her work schedule, with his. He has to travel like 4o something weeks a year! So she's working less.
But there is still work. We still do shows with Lola. And with those shows comes a lot of work. Handwork done by me, and me alone. For 1 show, we're looking at 7-10 different outfits. That's just for the show! Then she usually needs clothing for appearances and photo shoots. If the girls are performing with her, that's more work. At least 50 different outfits for 1 show! And if it's the band, that's easily 15 different shirts, multiplied by however many they order. Usually 5 sets.
So there's a lot of work. And until Lola decides to really slow down, I don't really see Tony and I have a baby anytime soon. It makes me a little sad. But I can't imagine hand stitching costumes until 3am with a crying baby. Or flying back and forth to LA 3-4 X's a month.
Until then, Tony and I are just going to enjoy married life. We LOVE it! And have decided to slow down a little this summer. Just enjoy our hometown, family, and friends. Most of all, enjoy each other. Because what's the rush? God has our entire lives already planned out for us.

Chair Love
Love this chair! It's really perfect for my little vanity area. I found it on Target's website for $300. I'm also considering buying 2 for my studio. I really like the design and the fabric. Oh, I haven't been this excited in a long time! Well, over furniture. But this is love! It also doesn't hurt that Target is offering free shipping at the moment too.

Sequin Clutch
Tony and I are invited to a bunch of weddings this summer. And I want to have a little fun with my outfits for each one. So I've been looking for evening accessories.
Today I went to Target. And I happened to see this clutch as I was looking for hair ties. Strange that it was there next to the hair brushes. But I really like the look of it. And it was a steal at $17!
I can actually see myself using this for a variety of events. And I really like the detail on the clutch. Target is really stepping up their style game!

Sandal Love
I couldn't help myself! I went to Target and picked up a pair of Cynthia Vincent sandals. For $30! They're amazing! And the minute I had seen them on an ad, I knew I had to get them. Look at these beauties!
And they're really comfy. These are definitely going to be my go to shoes for summer. And can already tell, we're going to be BFFs!

Classic
My mom bought me this cute necklace today. I really like it. And on, it's so simple and timeless. Classic actually. It's definitely one of my favorite new pieces. Something I can wear with a variety of outfits. You can find it at Target for $20.

Litberty of London
I was actually pretty disappointed. I went to Target today and the new Liberty of London collection made me sad. I didn't really like much of what they had. The day it was released, I took a look online. And I made a short list. But when I went into the store, this is all I bought.
These cute rain boots. Honestly, they just made me smile. How else do I justify buying them?
And this really cute scarf. I did like this. Although, I thought it would be made of softer material. Not just cotton.
I would provide links on Target's website. But everything is sold out. How? I'm not sure. I think this was a flop. At least in my opinion. But then again, I'm not a very flowery kind of a lady either.

Wow!
Tony and I recently decided to buy out our silent partner. It was just the right time. And our silent partner was actually looking at getting out. But it's a ton of responsibility!
When I was first began my business, I was single. And doing it out of my home. It was working well. And I did a lot, or I should say, I only did personal and custom designs. I began working with Lola. Designing for her shows. And I was selling formal gowns and wedding gowns to old customers. Customers that I had had in a boutique that I had worked at. And I was just doing my best.
Then I got a good opportunity. To open my own boutique in LA. I took the chance. I kept designing for Lola. And I kept making wedding gowns. But I opened my own boutique and line. I took on 2 silent partners. One being my husband Tony. At the time, we didn't know each other. More on that later. :)
And for a few years now, things have been going great. But it was just time for the next move. Tony and I are now the only owners of both my boutique and line. It's pretty incredible to be honest. And we just signed the papers. Now I really feel like I need to pour hours and hours into my designs. This is our future we're talking about!
